A 'MUST' whilst you're there?
What do you love most about Gran Canaria?
"Gran Canaria has amazing landscapes."
What was your favourite town?
"We loved visiting Puerto de Mogán. The streets were filled with colourful flowers and the houses were white with coloured stripes as well."
@Travelcanyonblog's Top Tips
"We recommend renting a car and exploring this whole island! We saw “Los Azulejos” while driving in the mountains, which were beautiful coloured rocks. "
Favourite time of year to visit Gran Canaria
"Best time is March - May or September - November. You will always have good weather, but there will be less tourists in this period!"
What is a fun activity to do?
"Visiting the banana plantations and getting a tour with a guide. You may even taste the bananas, some banana wine & liqueur, and banana jam!"
Must pack items for Gran Canaria
"Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses and bring a lot of tops instead of sweaters. It can be very hot!"
Where to stay?
"We loved our accommodation close to the Maspalomas Dunes. You can walk to the beach and it’s one of the best places to stay when visiting this island."

We are Ashley and Sam. A Dutch travel couple traveling all around the world. We make city trips, travel inside Europe, but also on other continents. We share tips, recommendations & inspiration.
@anitanlal's Top Tips
"Don't just stay in the South! Most tourist resorts are located there, but the northern part of Tenerife is so much more authentic and offers so many stunning places worth visiting."
What do you love most about Tenerife?
"There are plenty of hidden gems that most visitors don't know about, so you can have them all to yourself sometimes. I loved Charco de La Laja or Playa Castro in the North."
What is a must try in the Canary Islands?
"Barraquito coffee for sure if you have a sweet tooth. It's a coffee with frothed milk, sweetened milk and some lemon/orange zest - delicious! For a great local food experience, look out for guachinches."
What's your favourite hike on the island?
"The route from Montana Blanca to Teide volcano. It's quite challenging due to the high altitude and elevation gain and you will need a permit to hike the very peak, but the views are so worth the struggle."

What do you love most about Montserrat?
"The view is awesome! Such a beautiful landscape and you can see up to the Pyrenees!!"
Must pack items for Montserrat
"A sweater!! Even though Montserrat is near Barcelona and the weather there is mild, pack a sweater because at almost 1300m it is much colder and windier."
Favourite time of year to visit Montserrat
"The best time to visit is in fall, when there are not so many tourists. The weather is still pleasant and your stay will be more enjoyable."
