Best tip for off-roading...
"Sometimes off-roading takes you to places where you don't want to go. Like a swamp... So before driving into an unknown area discover the road by foot. Otherwise, you will end up like we did."

What do you love most about Bishkek?
"A real mixture of ex-Soviet Union architecture blended with an up-and-coming modern city surrounded by beautiful snow-capped mountains - there’s something magical about this city."
A 'MUST' whilst you're there?
Don’t miss...
"The Central Mosque in Bishkek is the largest mosque in Central Asia. It opened in 2018 and is modelled on Istanbul’s Blue Mosque. With its towering minarets and beautiful interior, it is absolutely awe-inspiring. "
@travellustlarry's Top Tips
"Make sure you don’t miss the changing of the guard, Kyrgyz-style. This is on the hour in Ala-Too Square, you will see the guards goose-stepping across the square to guard the Kyrgyz flag. "
A worthy day trip…
"Burana Tower is an easy day trip from Bishkek and well worth a visit. This ancient minaret is one of Central Asia’s most important Silk Road sites and once stood at 45 metres tall."
Did you know ?
"The national hat of Kyrgyzstan is the Kalpak. Made with felt, it has been used by generations of nomads for protection from heat, cold and rain. You will see many elderly men wearing one with pride!"
